It turns out that under the folding cuff, there is a threaded connection for the handlebar pipe. It is possible that that one has not been properly tightened at the factory but it is fairly easy to do that yourself:
- when the scooter is unfolded and ready to ride, stand behind the handlebar (on the board side)
- ensure that the brake sits fully tight on the handlebar
- use the brake's body (not the lever) to twist the LEFT handlebar backwards with maximum force
- you will feel how the handlebar screws in further until it sits tightly
- once that is done, you can re-adjust the position of the handle grips to fit your riding style and you can open up the bolt on the brake to re-adjust its position as well.
